IYANYA, GETS PRANKED ON THE BIG FRIDAY SHOW! ...Tinsel's Gbenro Ajibade storms show

The Big Friday Show, Nigeria’s favourite weekly entertainment programme will once again thrill loyal viewers as some of Nigeria’s top celebrities will grace this week's exciting episode.

This week, fast-rising act, Iyanya, joins the list of stars who have been pranked on the popular TV show. Other entertainers who have been pranked include Wizkid, D’ Prince, Skales, Karen Igho, DJ Humility among other acts.

The eleventh episode of The Big Friday show will also feature Tinsel star and model, Gbenro Ajibade, as this week’s celebrity guest.

As usual, bubbly Vlogger, Stephanie Coker will keep us up to speed on what’s new in the local and international entertainment scene on the Vlog segment of the show.

 In this week’s line up, lucky GLO subscriber, Folawiyo Oladejo gets to meet with celebrity guest of the week, Gbenro   Ajibade of Tinsel on the MEET ME segment. Upcoming act, DI-TWENI will also face an enormous   challenge –one that he must surmount- in order to lift his budding career to the next level.

ARCHBISHOP, DESMOND TUTU FINDS NEW GROOVE ON MTV MEETS

Meeting with Archbishop Tutu had time to talk about Nigerian politics and international relations student by ZaphiaOvia (20), South African novelist and BA English literature and politics student Andy Petersen (19), Ghanaian entrepreneur and business studentMakafuiAyimey (24) and African studies studentTatendaMuranda (24) from Zimbabwe.

Before the preview, he said he was  deeply impressed with the young interviewers.  In fact, he said they  made him glow with pride and to feel our world is in good hands.

Archbishop Tutu (80),was the first black Archbishop of Cape Town, and primate of the Church of the Province of Southern Africa (now the Anglican Church of Southern Africa). He rose to worldwide fame during the 1980s as a fearless and vocal critic of apartheid.

Famous for straight-talking and his powerful oratory, Tutu is fierce in his defense of human rights and uses his high profile to fight injustive of all kinds and to combat poverty, racism, AIDS, tuberculosis, sexism, and homophobia, among many others. During the years that Nelson Mandela was in prison, Archbishop Tutu spoke out against the regime - winning the Nobel peace prize in 1984 for his efforts.He was subsequently awarded theAlbert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism (1986); the Pacem in Terris Award(1987), the Sydney Peace Prize (1999), the Gandhi Peace Prize in 2005 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom(2009).
 
Archbishop Tutu was handpicked by President Mandela to chair South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission and investigate the crimes committed by all sides during the apartheid regime.

In his 81st year, "The Arch" remains a jovial, irrepressible and influential force both in South Africa and on the global political stage as the chairman of The Elders, an influential group of former world leaders, launched on Nelson Mandela's 89th birthday in 2007 with the aim of tackling some of the world's most pressing problems.

Archbishop Tutu is the latest high profile South African opinion former to feature in the youth empowerment and mentorship series.  The first series of MTV Base Meets…with MTN (2011) featured Julius Malema and Hugh Masekela.  Further thought leaders participating in Season 2 include Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former president of Nigeria, Togolese international striker Emmanuel Adebayor, Sudanese supermodel Alek Wek and Hip Hop entrepreneur Russell Simmons.

The highly anticipated singles from Chocolate City's artist, Ice Prince Zamani is rocking airwaves.

The songs "ABOKI" and "MORE" are produced by Chopstix and was exclusively released  August 28, 2012. 

ABOKI is Ice's way of celebrating the North, the successes that are largely unnoticed, and correcting the stereotype that comes with the word "Aboki"

The bonus track, MORE, is a subtle mid-tempo song that talks of a turbulent love story. One partner has lost hope in the relationship, the other wills for more in love, support,

DAMMY KRANE, SOLID STAR, OTHERS FOR HENNESSY ARTISTRY 2012 CLUB TOUR


Some of the most talented and most promising artistes in Nigeria are about to hit the road for the Hennessy Artistry 2012 club tour. Excitement has reached a fevered pitch as fans who have been eagerly anticipating the club tour have already begun preparations to support their favourite acts.

2face Idibia’s prolific protégé, Dammy Krane, “One in a million” crooner, Solid Star, wave making Flowssick, and fast-rising hit-makers Rayce, Burna Boy, Mo-Eazy, L.O.S, Ms Jaie and Tunde Ednut will come together to set the clubs on fire from this weekend on the Hennessy Artistry Club Tour.

A week after Nigeria’s favorite rappers, M.I and Naeto C, were announced headliners for this year’s Hennessy Artistry project, organizers of the musical platform revealed that the spotlight will also be given to rising acts as the Hennessy Artistry project is not only about established Artistes but also promising musicians.

The talented acts will perform in different clubs across Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt starting on Friday, August 31, 2012 which will culminate in a series of VIP events which will see Hennessy Artistry Headliners, M.I and Naeto C perform.
